Center for Medical Weight Loss

How many weight loss programs do you have?

Crown Health Care currently offers three basic medical weight loss options.  Each weight loss program is individualized based on you needs and requirements, and includes personal counseling with the doctor, body composition analysis, and exercise recommendations.

Some programs include meal replacement nutriceuticals, and may involve an appetite supplement.  We do not offer HCG or shots of any kind with our medical weight loss program.

How long do I have to stay on these weight loss programs?

The length of time you may stay on the medical weight loss program depends on which program you are on, how much weight you want to lose, and most importantly how motivated you are.  As you know, weight loss is not a "quick fix".  When you move from the initial phase of any weight loss program to maintenance phases, your goal is to establish healthy eating habits you can follow for you entire life.

The programs at Crown's Centers for Medical Weight Loss are comprehensive and include behavior modification counseling, as well as recommendations created to help you achieve on-going success.

How often do I have to visit your medical weight loss center?

Again, it depends on the weight loss program requirements.  Some programs require a visit every on or two weeks, while some require a monthly visit.  It also depends on what you are willing to do, and what you can fit into your schedule.

the physicians at Crown Health Care believe that obesity is a disease with a physiological cause, instead of an individual's weakness of lack of willpower.  Patients need to be able to participate in a weight loss program that is safe, effective and lifestyle apporpriate.  The doctor can discuss this with you at the time of your consultation.

Do I have to be extremely overweight?  What if I only need to lose 10 or 15 lbs?

The program is not just for people who are extremely overweight, but for anyone that feels unhealthy due to their weight.  The doctor will tell you if you shouldn't or don't need to lose weight, of if you are not the right candidate for the program.  Our goal is your overall health.

Is this program safe if I have diabetes or another condition?

Not only are the programs safe for people with diabetes, hypertension, and other medical problems - the are helpful in controlling further complications that result from these diseases.  Our medical weight loss programs can help alleviate many of the other conditions that result from obesity, including arthritis, coronary artery disease, sleep apnea, hypertension and high cholesterol.
